Sid had a pour over coffee and I had a french press of the UTE roasted coffee. We also had a few half an half Santiago’s breakfast burritos. Boy was I excited to see those offered here.
Wow was it a brisk morning to start this off! Rolling out of the house it was 39 degrees and Sid and I met at the high school parking lot to get started. From there we took the plum creek trail up through hangman’s gulch and climbed up through the woodlands. No leg burning times were set. Just good conversation and a casual pace as we climbed. We bombed down 5th and headed downtown to Briccy’s for some much needed coffee and warmth. The overall atmosphere was a little weird at Briccy’s. No music was playing, no TVs on, just a slow stream of people getting their morning fix. While the coffee shop is right off of the path there isn’t anywhere to lock your bike up to. We could have locked them together but that wouldn’t stop someone that could lift 40 lbs and toss the bikes into the back of their truck. The coffee was good, but the general lack of atmosphere really didn’t grab me to come back.
